12 Hawks Happy Hour: What's Included Monday to Friday 2-4pm

Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 2pm to 4pm. That's it. No happy hour on weekends, none on Tuesday because the doors are closed that day. If you're planning around it, those are the only two hours you get, five days a week.

Drink Prices

Domestic beer runs $3.50 a pint during happy hour. Well drinks are $4. House wine by the glass drops to $5. The craft cocktail list gets a $2 discount across the board, so a $10 cocktail runs $8 during the window. That's a real discount, not a rounding trick.

Draft selection changes depending on what's on tap that week, so don't expect the same beer every visit. If you have a favorite, ask before you sit down. Nothing worse than planning your afternoon around a beer that rotated out last Thursday.

Food Menu

The happy hour food menu is smaller than the regular menu, on purpose. It's built for sharing and it's built to move fast out of the kitchen. Here's what's typically on it:

• Loaded nachos, $7

• Chicken wings, six for $6, tossed in your choice of sauce

• Sliders, two for $6

• Fried pickles, $5

• Chips and salsa, $4

These prices hold for the full two-hour window. Order at 2:01pm or 3:59pm, same price. Kitchen doesn't slow down for happy hour, so food comes out at a normal pace, not rushed and not backed up.

What's Not Included

The full dinner menu isn't discounted. Steaks, full entrees, the burger platters, none of that gets the happy hour price. This is an appetizer and drink deal, not a meal deal. If you're planning to feed a family of four a full dinner during happy hour, you'll pay regular menu prices for the entrees and happy hour prices for whatever appetizers you add on.

Premium liquor and top-shelf pours aren't discounted either. The $2 off applies to the standard cocktail list, not the higher-end stuff. Ask your server which pours qualify before you order if you want to avoid a surprise on the check.

Who Actually Uses This

Weekday afternoon crowd is a mix. Some folks stop in after a shift ends around 2 or 3. Some are working from home and taking a break. A few regulars treat it like a standing appointment, same seat, same order, every Thursday. It's a quieter crowd than weekend nights, no big game energy, no packed bar. If you want a low-key drink and a plate of wings without a wait, this is the window to do it.

Families come through too, especially with kids in tow after school lets out. The dining room stays open during happy hour, so you can order off the regular kids' menu while the adults take advantage of the drink and appetizer prices. Nobody's going to push you toward the bar seating if you'd rather sit at a table.

Timing Tips

2pm sharp is when it starts. Kitchen and bar both switch over right at 2, so you're not waiting around for a manager to flip a sign. At 4pm it ends, and prices go back to regular. If you're mid-drink or mid-plate when 4pm hits, you're not getting charged extra retroactively. It's whatever price applied when you ordered.

Friday afternoons tend to fill up faster than the other four days. People are already thinking about the weekend, so the 3pm to 4pm stretch on Friday can get busier than, say, a Monday at 2:15. If you want a table without waiting, earlier in the week and earlier in the window works best.

Honest Tradeoffs

Two hours is a tight window. Some bars run happy hour for four or five hours, or all day on certain weekdays. This one doesn't. If your work schedule doesn't line up with 2 to 4pm, you're not getting the deal, no exceptions, no extending it for regulars.

The food menu is limited on purpose. If you're hoping to get a full dinner at a discount, this isn't that. It's built around shareable bar food, not full plates. That's a fair tradeoff for the drink prices, but worth knowing before you sit down expecting a discounted steak.
