12 Hawks Live Music and Karaoke Nights: What's the Schedule?

Short answer: there's no standing weekly karaoke or live music night right now. If you're used to bars that run "Karaoke Tuesday" or "Live Band Friday" on autopilot, that's not how this place works yet. Bookings happen when they happen, not on a fixed recurring schedule.

What that means in practice

Some months there's a local act playing on a Friday or Saturday night. Some months there isn't. It depends on who's available, what else is going on in Ephrata, and whether a holiday weekend or local event is pulling in extra foot traffic. There's no guarantee you'll walk in on any given Saturday and find a mic set up.

That's a tradeoff. The upside is nights that do happen feel less like filler and more like an actual event. The downside is you can't plan your whole Saturday around "karaoke night" the way you might at a bigger bar in Wenatchee or Moses Lake that has the staff and space to run it every week without fail.

Why there's no fixed schedule

Running live music or karaoke every single week takes a sound system that stays set up, a host or DJ on payroll, and enough weeknight or weekend traffic to make it worth the cost. A smaller bar and grill in a town the size of Ephrata has to weigh that against things people ask for more consistently: a place open for breakfast, a reliable happy hour, and screens tuned to the game. Those get priority because that's what brings people in night after night, not once a month.

How to actually find out if something's booked

  • Call ahead before you drive over, especially on a Friday or Saturday night.

  • Check for signage or a chalkboard update if you're already in Ephrata running errands.

  • Ask the bartender during happy hour from 2 to 4pm Monday through Friday, since staff usually know about anything booked for the coming weekend before it's posted anywhere.

Don't assume. Don't drive 20 minutes from Soap Lake or Quincy expecting a live set and get surprised.

What is reliable every week

If live music is a maybe, here's what isn't:

  • Happy hour runs 2 to 4pm, Monday through Friday, every week, no exceptions.

  • Game days. Every screen in the place is tuned to whatever's on, whether that's Sunday football, a weeknight Mariners game, or college basketball in March.

  • The kitchen covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you're not stuck choosing between "go for food" and "go for drinks."

  • Closed Tuesdays. If you're planning a visit, rule that day out first. Here's why Tuesdays are closed if you're curious about the reasoning.

Good nights to go anyway, music or not

Even without a confirmed karaoke or live act, a few nights tend to have more energy than others:

  • Friday and Saturday evenings, when the bar fills up with people winding down the week.

  • Any night with a major game on, since the crowd and noise level go up regardless of what's playing over the speakers.

  • Local event weekends, like anything tied to the Grant County Fairgrounds or a school sports tournament bringing extra families and visitors through town.

If you're bringing a group and want music or karaoke specifically, mention it when you call to check availability. Enough interest ahead of time is often what turns a quiet Saturday into a booked one.

What to do while you wait on a schedule

If there's nothing booked the night you're free, that doesn't mean skip it. You can still get a full meal, a mixed drink, and a seat in front of a screen. Take a look at the full food and drink menu before you go so you're not deciding on the spot. Kids are welcome too, which matters if music nights usually mean you'd have to find a sitter instead.

Bottom line

Right now, don't plan your week around a recurring karaoke or live music slot at 12 Hawks, because it doesn't exist yet in a fixed form. Call ahead if it matters to you, lean on happy hour and game days for a sure thing, and treat any live music you do catch as a bonus rather than something to count on.
